In the Time of the Murderers

Galip isn't afraid of the bombs. He watches with childish eyes the luminous trails the missiles draw across the sky. The noise excites him and he doesn' t understand the thick columns of smoke. Galip is too little to be afraid of the bombs. Not even the ones that fall on the street in Bagdad where Galip was born barely two years ago and that now explode and take him away, much too early and forever, from this world, as beautiful as it is mean.
